Whether It Suits Your Home

What We Check Before Recommending a Heat Pump

We assess the building and the existing systems before recommending a heat pump or a specific configuration.

  • Heat loss across the building, which sets the capacity you actually need
  • Your electrical panel and its spare capacity
  • Where the outdoor unit can sit, and what the indoor distribution looks like
  • Existing ductwork condition, if the plan is to use it
  • Permits, and strata approval where the building requires it

Choosing the System

Choosing the Right Heat Pump

The configuration affects comfort, installation scope and cost. We work through these choices before preparing the quote.

  • Ducted or ductless: whether the ductwork you already have is worth using
  • One zone or several, and which rooms genuinely need their own control
  • Whether the existing heating system stays as backup or comes out
  • Where the outdoor unit sits, for clearance, drainage and noise
  • Which efficiency tier earns its difference in this house, rather than in general

The Work Itself

Installation Day

Before work begins, we confirm access, protection, equipment removal, electrical work and commissioning.

  • What needs clearing, and where access is needed inside and out
  • Floor and surface protection through every area being worked in
  • How the old equipment is dealt with, agreed before the day rather than on it
  • Electrical work, and whether the panel is being touched
  • Commissioning: the system started, measured and adjusted rather than simply switched on
  • A walk-through of the controls before anyone leaves
